GOOD THINGS TO KNOW - SAFETY FIRST

  • ALWAYS WEAR YOUR CAR SEAT BELT (IT'S THE LAW).
  • ALWAYS GET PERMISSION BEFORE GOING ANYWHERE.
  • ALWAYS USE THE "BUDDY SYSTEM".
  • ALWAYS LOOK BOTH LEFT THEN RIGHT WHEN CROSSINC THE STREET. American cars may look strange when you first see them, because the steering wheel is located on the left side of the automobile. It is because Americans drive on the right side of the road. So remember: Always cross at intersections and always look first to the left and then the right before crossing!
  • IF YOU ARE EVER IN TROUBLE, GO TO A POLICE OFFICER (THEY ARE OUR BUDDIES).
  • IF YOU ARE EVER IN AN EMERGENCY AND NEED HELP: TELEPHONE 911.
  • ALWAYS WEAR SUN LOTION WHEN IN THE SUN
FAMILY RULES
  • NEVER USE THE PHONE UNLESS YOU ASK (IT IS VERY COSTLY).
  • BE POLITE (AMERICANS LOVE TO HEAR "PLEASE & THANK YOU").
  • IF ASKED, HELP OUT WITH FAMILY CHORES (MAKING YOUR
BED, CLEARING THE DINNER TABLE, TAKING OUT TRASH,
    ETC.).
  • DON'T BE A LITTERBUG! When American children are very young, they are taught not to litter. Always remember to toss your litter into a bin. If one cannot be found hold onto it until one is found nearby.
